Programme Objectives

The programme is designed to develop behavioral, managerial, leadership and entrepreneurial competencies required for effective professional engagement with sustainability oriented social and collective enterprises. The pedagogical framework integrates classroom-based learning with exploratory study visits and immersive practicum engagements in sector-specific institutions, thereby enabling a comprehensive understanding of enterprise design, structure, operations and performance.
The PGD–SCM aims to prepare participants for executive and managerial positions, and to assume professional leadership roles in organizations contributing to equitable and inclusive growth in Agriculture and allied sectors, rural transformation and community development. The program consists of Induction and Remedials followed by three class room based interactive learning terms interspersed with experiential learning terms including exploratory study visits and immersive practicum engagements in sector-specific institutions to impart comprehensive understanding of enterprise design, structure, operations and performance.
This program is a structured, comprehensive professional management education designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application through praxis – theory, analysis and reflection. It combines foundational, functional and integrative management training through interactive classroom learning, and on-site experience to give participants a deep understanding of how agri, food business value chains and collective enterprises are designed, built to last and managed for excellnce with triple Ps – profit, people, planet – orientation and sustainability perspectives.
